The lockdown survival TV Guide!
The lockdown survival TV Guide!
Its lockdown 2.0 in England and Wales, it’s getting darker earlier and the weather is much colder than the first time round but its not all doom and gloom. A November lockdown means we get some of the best TV cuddled up on the sofa with our loved ones (and dogs if you have one), so at Scott Fleary we thought we would give you the ultimate lockdown survival guide, move aside The Radio Times!
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! – ITV1
I’m a Celebrity is a true British institution (despite the fact it is normally in Australia). This year it is going to be very different, ITV have moved the show to a castle in North Wales which is a far cry from the sunny Australian jungle. Despite the location change all the chaos we have come to love over the past 18 years will be comfortably familiar, Bush tucker trials, hungry campmates and the incredible Ant & Dec. I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here will start on 15th November and normally finishes early December, perfect to get you through the whole of lockdown!
The Great British Bake Off – Channel 4
It’s The Great British Bake Off semi-finals and even under these exceptional circumstances this series has been full of drama. Never did we think someone knocking over someone’s cake could be so gripping, it truly is the ‘Luther’ of the baking world! The Great British Bake Off can also inspire you to peel yourself away from the sofa throughout lockdown and do some baking of your own, because who didn’t bake banana bread during the first lockdown? The next episode is on Tuesday at 8pm, don’t miss it…
His Dark Materials – BBC 1
If you’re looking for some perfect escapism and something to binge during the long nights BBC’s latest drama ‘His Dark Materials’ is for you. A gripping fantasy drama based on Phillip Pullman’s novels. His Dark Materials is set in a multi-world reality, and follows orphan Lyra who discovers a dark secret, if you like Stranger Things you will love this! The first series aired last November and if you haven’t been entranced by it already you can binge all of it and start straight away with series 2, a perfect way to keep you entertained.
The National Theatre – Sky Arts
Are you missing the theatre as much as we are? Thankfully Sky Arts has extended its partnership with the National Theatre and have announce 2 shows to be aired on their Freeview channel 11. In December we have 2 classics to look forward to, Twelfth Night and Jane Eyre, so finally we can get that theatre fix we have all been craving. What a lovely Christmas present from Sky Arts…
Lockdown will be over soon enough, but time does fly when you’re having fun so curl up on the sofa and enjoy yourself with the best of British entertainment, we will all be back in the pubs soon!
Check out some of the incredible shows we have done creative construction for.
